Hi. You just send the code of the emoticon on chat. For example you type (poolparty) and you send it to someone on chat (instant message).
You also forgot the flag bit (flag:XX) which if you want the canada flag you type (flag:ca) and so on…. there is 237 flag emotions so you should add them too!

Hi. If you search for “hug skype gif” in google images there is one animated that you can download but it is from the old type of icons.
If you want to make your own, one way to do it, that I can think of, for any of them, is to make a screenshot of all the possible frames of the icon while it is sitting in the Skype chat window and then use the images in a gif creating program to create the gif. It requires some work and software and some skills as well.

Probably the emoticons are disabled from the options. Sign in and go to the menu Tools -> Options -> IM & SMS -> IM Appearance, check the boxes Show emoticons and Show animated emoticons, and save the settings.

I updated Skype on Jan. 11, 2013. When I try to update, it says “you have the latest updates” (couldn’t find the version). It has happened to the flower, the yawn, and the sun.

Are you using a Mac or Windows? I see that people with Mac have talked about this problem on the internet. Didn’t see a solution though.
You can see the version by going to the menu Help -> About Skype.
Can you try to reinstall the Skype to see if that will work?
I am using windows and I have version 6.1.73. I’ll try to reinstall it. Thanks

OK. You may want to install Skype 6.2, which is currently the most recent. Tell me if that worked.

Hi. Unfortunately I don’t think there is. There is one fan made program that works with the old Skype 3 and adds the hidden icons (some of them actually) but it does not work with newer versions.
I found a kitty emote but have no idea how I made it, I was using speech recognition while i was typing and it heard my finger clickings on the keyboard as some word. The person I was talking to asked how I made the cat. I went to answer and it went away! So I have no idea how I made it lol.
Are there any new ones in 2013 yet?

Hi. Yes, we have discussed this somewhere in the comments. It is not really an emoticon. It is just a hidden thing that shows when you press and hold 3 keys at the same time. For example C+A+T works. Other combinations work as well but not all.
