A little while ago I uploaded Skype Portable 3.8 and now I’ve decided to upload 4.0 as well. Many people still prefer 3.8 but if you are not one of them you can download the 4.0 version from the blue button to the right where it says Download Skype Portable 4.0.
What is Skype Portable you ask? Well, it is an easy to move version of Skype, in this case a portable version of Skype 4.0. You can move it from one computer to other without any installation. It is basically one .exe file and nothing more. You just start it from any computer and use it right away.
It is very useful to carry around a portable Skype on your USB flash drive or MP3 player. This way you know you can always use it even if you only have access to a computer without Skype and with settings restricting the installation of new software. Another way to sign-in with Skype in case of an emergency is through the browser (thanks to the website imo.im).
